Teak Cleaner by Kingsley Bate

Teak furniture requires little, if any, maintenance and can be left outdoors year-round to weather naturally. While the rate of weathering varies depending on climate, moisture and exposure to the sun, your furniture will eventually acquire a beautiful silver-gray patina as the surface oil begin to evaporate.

If you prefer the golden-honey color of new teak or want to remove stubborn stains, we recommend a teak maintenance product from Kingsley-Bate: Teak Cleaner to clean your weathered furniture. The process is very simple, does not require heavy scrubbing, and will take no more than 30 minutes for one bench. This one liter bottle is good for several pieces of furniture, depending on the size of the pieces: typically 4 dining chairs and one 4 seater table. It is not necessary to use the cleaner on new teak furniture – we suggest you let your new teak weather for at least a ten month before you use this or other teak cleaning products. In order to return your furniture to the the golden-honey color of new teak, and to maintain that look for several months to a year, you can use Kingsley Bate Teak Protector (after using the Teak Cleaner), which helps “seal-in” the color. Use gloves when applying any of these products; it is highly recommended that the work be done on a surface such as asphalt or cement, which is not subject to staining.

(Note: This cleaner should only be used if you want to remove the silver-gray color. To clean the furniture without removing the silver-gray, simply use soap and water. Using Teak Cleaner or Teak Protector will not prolong the life of your teak — it will simply restore and help maintain the golden-brown color of teak.)
