Split is an unusual multi-piece fresco by Idaho artist Heather Hansen. The five pieces, executed on solid wood planks, are suspended from wooden pegs (which can be screwed into most walls); together they measure 60" across, 36" long and 2" wide. This is a whimsical fresco that showcases Heather's talent not only for texture and color, but also her creativity in medium and display. Split can be arranged in any sequence, and changed around at any time due to the flexibilty wooden peg display system.
Fresco is the technique of painting earth pigments directly onto wet lime plaster. All of Heather's frescos are finished with beeswax and/or a thin layer of shellac.
Heather Hansen is well-known in
Idaho for her beautiful frescos. She has been showing her work at The Open Room for the last five years, and her pieces can be found in private art collections around the country. Heather is also available to do commissioned artwork.
