Amelia Coffee Table by Meyer Wells

The striking Amelia coffee table is crafted by the talented design team at Meyer Wells in a marvelously grained solid silver maple with a rich, honey finish.  This individually hand-crafted piece beautifully combines the organic with sleek geometric form.  The Amelia table is 36" wide and 16" high, with two tiers of solid silver maple (each 2" thick) floating in simple steel frame. Master craftsman Seth Meyer and acclaimed designer John Wells worked together in the early stages of the rediscovered wood movement. They salvage and reclaim urban trees that are removed after storm damage or for development, which would otherwise end up as playground woodchips, incinerated, or rot in a landfill. They carefully select, mill and dry the lumber. The resulting furniture is reminiscent of George Nakashima's natural edged tables.  As a matter of course, Meyer Wells uses HAP free and low-VOC finishes, but they also offer other finishes that range from water based non-ozone depleting to 100% botanical tung oil.
