The graceful and roomy Ipanema teak day bed by Kingsley Bate is a marvelous deep seating lounger at a great price. Perfect for a tranquil nap or simply lounging, the Ipanema day bed is the ideal accessory for enjoying a relaxing afternoon outdoors. The extra deep mattress cushion, five back pillows, and two bolsters are made with weather resistant Sunbrella® fabric and are included in the price (premium Sunbrella farbics are subject to an upcharge). The solid teak construction uses precise mortise and tenon joinery, and includes marine grade stainless steel accents. The day bed measures 87" long and and 39" deep. Cushions are available in a wide range of Sunbrella® fabrics. The new Ipanema line by Kinglsey Bate also includes many other pieces, such as dining and other lounging furniture. Kingsley Bate is one of America’s leading manufacturer of teak outdoor furniture, using only premium quality teak and sturdy mortise and tenon joinery in the construction of its furniture. Kingsley-Bate also leads the way in the environmentally responsible manufacture of its furniture and was the first American company to use Javanese teak in the manufacture of its furniture. Its teak is harvested from carefully controlled plantations, established in Indonesia by the Dutch in the Mid-19th century. The Indonesian government allows the felling of a limited number of trees each year, and ensures that an equal amount of reforestation takes place. In 1983 Kingsley-Bate, in conjunction with the Indonesian government and its people, undertook to develop a teak furniture program in Java. Since then, Indonesia and Kingsley-Bate have shown that such a program can be implemented without detriment to that country's natural resources.
