Barlow Tyrie Teak Stain Guard
This teak maintenance product provides an almost invisible shield which helps to prevent food spills (coffee, ketchup, red wine, olive oil, etc.) from penetrating into teak causing dirty spots. While most stains on teak can be removed by light scrubbing or sanding, Stain Guard makes the cleaning of accidental spills an easier task. This fine product from Barlow Tyrie (one of the oldest teak companies in the world) is supplied with its own special applicator pad. Stain Guard is ideal for outdoor teak dining tables, occasional tables, bars and any teak surfaces that might be used for serving food or beverages.
Although made to withstand the rigours of an outdoor environment, your teak furniture will benefit from regular care and maintenance. Normally, you will need to treat your furniture only once or twice a year with Stain Guard, depending upon location. However, teak furniture in harsher environments, such as coastal or chlorinated pool areas, may need more frequent maintenanace. This one liter bottle of Stain Guard is good for several pieces of furniture, depending on size.
We do not recommend treating outdoor teak with Teak oil, as it will not extend the life of your furniture and may lead to mildewing and discoloration. While it is common to protect indoor teak furniture with teak oil, most manufacturers of fine teak patio furniture strongly advise against its use when the furniture is being used outside.
